It's a small world after all.

Not exactly on-topic, but an ex related anecdote of a different stripe.

My kid tells me about a family frend (a woman who's husband died a year or so ago). "Our friend x is pregnant, isn't that cool?" Me: "I guess if she was wanting to be pregnant then that's a good thing for her" kid: "yeah she always wanted to have kids, but couldn't with her husband who died, but now she is dating Fred and he always wanted kids too, they aren't married but they are both really happy about it. Do you know Fred? He's a friend of mom's who works at..." Heh. Do I know Fred? Do I know Fred? Sure I know Fred, he's the guy your mom was dating and fooling around sexually with while we were still married and seperated but still living together before we had decided for sure to get a divorce. Yes, I know Fred. Asshole. BTW, thanks for reminding me that your mother's an asshole too. I had almost forgotten. me: "That sounds like it's good thing then."

[update: I had the wrong Fred, the father-to-be-Fred is a *different* guy my ex dated _after_ our divorce. Never mind.]

turn around

little things annoy me - like how when we were married there were certain things she had VERY clear ideas about whcih were inappropriate vis-a-viz kids and ex which she now does all the time. Examples - using the kids as couriers of information. e.g. don't have the kids transmitting schedule info that's the parent's responsibility, they should do it directly. Now I regularly get phone calls from c4 where the conversation starts off with "mom wanted to know if she could pick me up at x time" then as we talk c4 does the translation repeating everything i say to mom who then tells her what to say then c4 relays it to me, etc. it infuriates me.
